Screening Education
Healthy Lungs California joins GO2 for Lung Cancer's global Shine a Light on Lung Cancer campaign for an educational event at UCLA during Lung Cancer Screening Month. Held near Ronald Reagan Hospital at the intersection of LeConte and Westwood Blvd, the event brings together community members, adults 50+, and healthcare professionals to learn about lung cancer risk and screening. GO2 provides educational materials while Healthy Lungs California adds swag and the inflatable lungs exhibit to draw attention and spark conversation. Activities include printed handouts, one-on-one risk and eligibility conversations with a QR code to the HLC eligibility tool, a lung cancer trivia game with prizes, inflatable lung exploration, and photo documentation for sponsors. The team aims to reach at least 50 healthcare professionals and older adults passing by, assess public knowledge of lung cancer screening, and estimate screening participation among eligible individuals. Offered in English and Spanish.
